New Delhi. Barbara Jarabika, said to be the girlfriend of fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi, has claimed that Choksi had offered to book a hotel for her and pay for her flight tickets. Barbara also said that she wanted to be friends with Choksi and keep her relationship focused on business. Jarabika said that she often accompanied Choksi for coffee, evening walks and even dinner. Barbara has also revealed that Choksi had given his name as Raj and everyone around him used to call him by that name. I always wanted to limit our relationship to friendship but Mehul Choksi would often ask me to book hotel rooms or pay for my flight. However, I turned down all these offers because I know it will raise expectations and then he will misunderstand our relationship. Barbara added, ‘Things changed in May this year when he kept on offering to do business with me because he knew I was doing property related work. He wanted to open boutiques, hotels and clubs in Antigua and also said that he would pay for them. After seeing all this, I also got interested in business. Barbara said that diamantaire Choksi had given his name as Raj and he often used to message from different social media platforms like WhatsApp-Signal using different numbers. Barbara said that I used to joke about it many times because I was not so suspicious at that time. He used to change number 6 to 8 in six months. He always used to send me messages as a secret. The people of Antigua and the staff of many restaurants also called him Raj. No one knew his real name. Let us tell you that earlier Barbara had also claimed that Choksi had become friends with her and started flirting again. Choksi also gave Barbara a diamond ring and bracelet, which turned out to be fake. At the same time, Mehul Choksi has claimed through lawyers that he was abducted from Antigua. Not only this, Mehul Choksi claims that 8 to 10 people kidnapped him, including Barbara.
